There are really no words that come to mind at this moment except to say that I love you and that I am so inspired at how each of you have held each other through this journey. Monica has demonstrated such courage, grace, endurance and love throughout this battle. I know how much all her family and friends have done to stand behind her through the fight. I hope your love for each other and the beautiful memories you’ve created throughout the years will sustain you through the hard times and that you will find peace & feel the love and support from all of us who love you so much. I am so, so sorry.

Sol, you don’t know me but I know your mom and Frank as I attended Northwest with them. I heard about this site from a prayer request via Denise Baronian. I have been following you, Kai and Monica for about 3 weeks now. I have been praying and have asked my friends to pray for you as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Kai at this time. I pray that the memories you have made and the love of Kai that will show you his mother will sustain you both through this time. As I’ve read your posts it has beome very apparent that you love Monica so much and have stood tall through all of this. My prayer is that you are surrounded with God’s love and the many wonderful people I’ve read about during this time. I will continue to pray for both of you from afar. God Bless and In His Name, Tina

Our hearts are breaking at this moment for Sol & Kai. We know Monica is in a better heavenly place and in God’s arms. No one fought harder and had more faith in her God then Monica. It was a pleasure and an honor to call her our friend.

Memories come to mind of her sitting in our front room on our computer putting together a slide show of her and Sol to show at their upcoming wedding at the time. What a happy soul. Sol was truly the luckiest man in the world to be married a girl like Monica. Their love was a gift and truly special and one of a kind. As tears run dowm my face I try to smile because our God is a glorious God.

God bless Sol & Monica xoxoxoxo

Forever changed. That’s all that keeps coming to my mind. Sol and Monica, the touch of your lives onto mine and so many (worldwide!) leaves us all forever changed… by your fight, your love, your determination, your love for each other, we’re all forever changed by your drive for God’s glory to be shown through this. It reminds me of an old church hymn we sang growing up…”How can I say thanks, for the things you have done for me, things so undeserved, yet you give to prove your love to me; the voices of a million angels cannot express my gratitude.. all that I am and ever hope to be, I owe it all to thee…to God be the glory, to God be the glory, to God be the glory for the things he has done…

    Sol,
The Lord awakened me many times last night with thoughts of Monica, you and your entire family. While we are all devastated for you and your family, we rejoice that we have a HOPE and a FUTURE. Thank you to ALL of you for fighting the good fight. Never once did I hear you question “why me”? May God be glorified and may people come to the saving knowledge of Christ because of your sacrifice. You are loved…

    Dear Sol-
I never met Monica in person, but we occasionally emailed each other and I have many friends who have been watching her progress and praying for her this past year. I had my surgery the same day as Monica, we are both teachers and only a few months apart in age, so I always felt close to her and her situation is close to my heart as it has so mirrored my own.
I have been praying for her every day since I first heard about her, and will continue to pray for you and Kai as you grieve her loss. God bless you for being such a dear husband and father; I know because of the goodness of your heart and your devotion to your family your grief must be beyond words. Know that you are remembered in prayer daily by so many you’ve never met and will probably only meet in heaven.
Love your sister in Christ, Faith Gillis

I am so sorry for your loss. One of the true highlights of my years working for the Angels organization was meeting the two of you last year.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please let me know if there is ever anything I can do for you.

    Sol,
You may not remember meeting me a few years ago in Fresno. But my son, Jason, introduced me to you one evening when I had come to town to visit him.

Shortly after Monica was diagnosed with cancer, Jason told me about it and about your web site. Both myself and my wife, Karen, have read Monica’s writings and prayed for her each and every day.

Our hearts are full of sorrow for you, young Kai and the loss that you are feeling. Monica will never know just how many hearts that she touched in her short life. She conveyed hope and strength in her postings, while fighting the impossible fight.

Your family has been an inspiration to many, especially me! May God bless you, keep you, and guide you forever.

    Leon and Karen Hammack

    Hi Sol,

We haven’t seen you and Monica since you left Fresburg for the bright lights of LA, but Jen and Brad updated us on the sad news. I just wanted to leave a message of profound sorrow and deepest empathy over your earthly loss. Monica is a truly beautiful woman – inside and out – and I know that heaven is a little brighter now as she is welcomed and restored by Jesus.

Please know that we are praying for you and Kai and we will certainly do whatever we can to help you during this time of mourning and healing.

May you experience Jesus’ peace underneath your tears, and know that not one of them is wasted……He Himself is grieving with you, all the while carrying you through to the other side of sadness where you will certainly find hope and renewed joy with Kai and be rewarded for the love and devotion you showed your precious wife.

    With all our love,
    Dan and Patricia Bell

    Dear Mr. Rodriguez,
I know you probably do not know me. I was a student of Mrs. Rodriguez’s when I was in 7th grade and am a senior now. I had her two periods a day. I remember you as well. I just found out today. All of the students here in Mendota are sad to hear the news. She was one of my favorite teachers and she will be missed greatly by everyone who had her. I am sorry for your loss. She was a great person and I will miss her alot. I hope you and Kai are well soon. Mrs. Rodriguez is in a better place now. My condolences are with your family as well as hers. May the lord be with you all. May God Bless you and your family.

    With Love,
    Amber Villegas
