Sol, you and Kai have been in my thoughts and prayers throughout. I was in contact with Monica when this all started, as my husband was enduring the same sort of cancer. My daughter and I lost him in January, 2013, and we both continue to struggle as you do. It's hard to accept God's will - rationally, you know that this is not personal, but that doesn't make it any easier. I thank you for expressing your journey more eloquently than I can - it helps those of us on the same path know we are not alone. If you ever want to talk, I am here for you. God bless and watch over you two.

Sol,
I don't know you very well but I was a student of Monica's (Better known to me as Mrs. Rodriguez or Coach :D). I want to send my condolences out to you and your son, Kai. I never got to meet him but one thing that I see is that he looks so much like his mother. God Bless you and your family and I hope you find the will to heal and to continue to be a strong father for your son.

Sincerely,
Angela Riofrio

Hi, Sol
I hope you'll see this as an encouragement.
We went to middle school together (many, many years ago) I remember thinking to myself, Wow this person is really awesome- smart(really smart), likeable, well spoken, I thought whatever you decided to do with your life you were going to be great. And after reading your blog- I was right! You picked an amazing wife, and you became an awesome dad (you can really tell that your first concerns are to your son) and you had a band and made actual Cd's (wow), not to mention you actually moved from Fresno. God made you an awesome person, a strong person. God loves you and he's going to continue to be there with and for you. Keep pushing through, he's not going to leave you here.

    Sol,
Our hearts are saddened by Monica’s passing. It’s difficult times like these I just don’t know what to say,
other than Peggy and I will continue to pray for you and your family.
