Hi Monica,

A friend of mine sent me this and I wanted to share with you……

We complain about the cross we bear but don’t realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.

Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain….
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God’s always ready, to answer your call….
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear…
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, by dawn’s early light…
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
to give you His grace, and send you His love.
May God fill your day with blessings!!

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle!

This really touched me. Hope all of you are feeling better and I’ll see you soon.

Hadn't checked your site in a few days ~ oh boy, sorry you're were feeling so bad, but glad you and Kai are both on the way to recovery. Lots of flu stuff going around here. You are in my prayers daily and not only do I pray for you, but I thank God for the strong, loving Christian family you and Sol have made and all the love, prayers and support that surround you from all your family and friends and their family and friends. So much for you to deal with ~ sickness, emotions, procedures, decisions. My heart aches for you going through this. Thankfully, God is with you and He is in control! This site is great for keeping up with you guys ~ it also shows the incredilble impact you have made on so many and the power of prayer and God's love! Sorry about Sol's band; I've seen other contests like this go the same way. It is exposure for them though! Tell Sol Happy Birthday late from us. I wrote both his and Josh's birthdays on the calendar as well as one of my son-in-law's - all in January - and still forgot all of them! Maybe it has something to do with my last birthday! Love you all so very much and wish we were closer to lend physical assistance and give hugs! Love, Ruth

Hey Monica, it's time for your Chemo Party! So call your friends, get your tiera and take joy in knowing your last session will be over in no time. I'll keep praying for you and ask God to give you extra giggle juice.

Hi Monica,

My name is Laurel Rivera- my maiden name was Edwards. I graduated with Janelle in ’96. Mary Caldwell just let me know of your condition this week after I found out about her mom’s (you’ve probably heard her mom went in for hernia surgery and it turned out to be cancer. They thought it was ovarian, but after surgery yesterday they found it was localized in her uterus instead). Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I’m praying for you. My biggest prayer is for your faith to trust that the Lord is sovereign in EVERY situation, and that He ONLY does rightly. we can trust His word that says that ”He causes all things to work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purposes” Rom 8:28. You’ve probably been reminded of that verse many times by now, but He calls us to ”Renew our minds”…”with the washing of the water of the word”. (Ephesians 6, I think) There is no greater peace to be found than that of taking God at His word.

I am certainly praying for the pain, for healing, rest for you and your family, joy, and many other things.
I’m curious to know what church you go to in Whittier. I met Pastor Jack Abeelen and visited Morning Star Church there. It’s a wonderful place.

Anyway, just wanted to pass on some encouragement and let you know that even more people, those whom you don’t even know, are lifting you up before the throne of God. He has you in His hands.

Take good care. No worries about writing back.

In His Grace,

~Laurel Rivera

Hi, guys. We're so sorry that we missed you this past Saturday. Caleb got really sick (our first experience with croup) and we just couldn't leave him with a sitter. Monica, we've been following your updates and praying for you regularly. We're so happy to hear that the tumor is shrinking and will continue to pray for complete healing! We love and miss you guys!

Our hearts are saddened by Monica’s passing. It’s difficult times like these I just don’t know what to say,
other than Peggy and I will continue to pray for you and your family.
