Dear Sol And Kai:
You are a man and father of inspiration. I know how often I find myself missing Monica and can not even imagine yours. I so admire your courage to move through life with love, courage and strength. To continue sharing your life through these windows of words and pictures is so endearing. Each time I read one of your shares it is about the time I keep thinking more and more how the two of you are doing. So thank you for sharing your true being. I so appreciate being able to continue to peek into your lives. I pray for you and kai many times when I go to temple. I continue to pray for the strength to heal and to continue being the great father (and mother) to Kai right now. Hang in there.

Hi Sol and Kai,
It's been awhile since I wrote, but you are never far from my thoughts. I pray for you both every morning on my way to school, as I drive up Greenleaf past your apartment! We hope your travels have given you a nice change of pace. We miss seeing you and continue to pray for your healing and wholeness. It is hard to believe Monica has been gone more than five months. May God bless you both and hold you in the palm of his hand.

Dear Sol,

I continue to think of you and Kai. I know the heartache is still there. I am sorry for that! I am happy for your vacation escape, but it never really takes away from your loss! Remember, Monica lived life to its fullest and she would want you to do the same. She knows your heartache, and she will do everything she can to help you heal! Keeping you in my prayers and thoughts, love gloria

Never make excuses for being "negative". I don't think your post was negative at all. Besides, the truth is the truth and I think most people would rather hear that than the famous "I'm fine".
It broke my heart to see you at Kim Songer's coffeebreak. I hope it helped in some small way. I didn't want to go but my friends made me. :) I guess it was good because the scripture I got was 1 Cor. 2:9- "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him." You know what? Monica and Andrew have seen and heard what God prepared for them. Yes, we want them here with us but they are so much better off than we are. I pray for God to come soon so we can all be together again.

Take care.

Sol and Kai,
October 2nd we wore denim and pink for Lee National Denim Day; the official kick off to breast cancer awareness month. Many wore our pink with pride thinking of our family and friends. ( And the staff is well aware of our personal fights against all cancers.) Monica was definitely one of our biggest reasons. I still post the picture of us when Monica's mom came to visit and took our staff photo two years ago. She is, and will always be a Hornet.

Hi Sol,

It's Jae Kim from Fresno. I came across your website when I did a google search for "prayer map". I read quite a bit of the site and my heart goes out to you. I was very moved by your story. I'm living in Houston right now with my wife, Karen, and our 19 month old daughter, Eliza. I might be in Irvine for work in November and would love to get together if you have a chance. Otherwise, I'd still love to catch up.

Our hearts are saddened by Monica’s passing. It’s difficult times like these I just don’t know what to say,
other than Peggy and I will continue to pray for you and your family.
