Dear Sol,

Just wanted you to know, I am thinking about you and Kai. I am sure many are. During the rush of planning everything, you don't have time to think. When things quiet down, there is too much time to think. In those moments, know that you are loved and thought about. Don't hesitate to pick up the phone and reach out to others...even if you repeat the same things over and over! Everyone will listen! God hears us as we pray for your healing. Love Gloria

The leader of my Bible study sent me this yesterday and it really encouraged me, he said it was okay for me to pass it on....
I was reading in Psalms this morning and I came upon a verse that made me think of your friend Monica. Even though we struggle with why people die at a young age, there is amazing comfort from God! The verse I wanted to share with you is from Psalm 116 v 15. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” So even though we may not understand why Monica is gone, the Lord does. Her death is precious to God! Sol and Kai mourn the temporary loss of their wife and mother, but they will spend eternity with her. When we see a life well lived like Monica’s it brings us great hope and confidence. We can rest assured that living a life for Christ will lead to Christ caring for us in death. What a joy, and reassurance in this difficult season! Andy Phipps

My heart continues to ache for you and Kai. I am praying that you really feel God's love and care for you and that He will give you strength for each day. She loved you both so much.
Kenita

Hi Sol,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I live across the street from you and I heard of Monica's story after reading it in the Whittier Daily News when you were featured after her passing.I have since come on your website many times and I have read Monica's posts and of her heroism throughout her journey. I just wanted to extend a friendly hand and let you know that although we don't know eachother, if you or your son, Kai ever need anything, please know that you have a nieghbor who is willing to help out in any way. I understand the difficult time Kai must be having right now and even if he just needs a friend to play with to keep him occupied...I have 2 littles ones around his age. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time.

Hi Sol,

I have no words to express thoughts and feelings towards you and Kai in this time of "walking through this valley" but I am praying for you and Kai that somehow His peace will be the stability that you both need to face each new day and all the emotions and memories that will be there.

Sol, my name is Grace, I married a widower who's wifed passed away of stomach cancer 7 years ago. They had 3 small children too..ages 1-2 years old. I met my husband 5 years ago when the oldest were 3 and I know that things are tough and scary for all the uncertainty. If I can offer to have my husband Kevin talk to you about he dealt with his experience...it might be helpful to you. I've seen the lord help my husband as he was a single father with 3 small children..it was hard but somehow it all works out and God will take care of you and Kai. Please call me or let me know if you would be interested in talking to him. He would be happy to sit down and have a cup of coffee or something.

Dear Sol,

We have not spoken in a few years, but I always considered you a dear friend. Growing up in Fresno together, some of my fondest childhood memories were shared with you. I felt blessed to have shared my childhood with you and your family. Unfortunately I am contacting you today because of the tragic loss your family has suffered. I never had the pleasure of meeting Monica, but I am sure she was beautiful loving person just like you. I am truly sorry for your loss and I will pray for you and your son through these difficult times.

With Love,

Sam Patel and Family

Hey Sol,

I thought I would pass on a message from one of my old college friends, Lynne Klassen. She took part in the Relay for Life in Vancouver, British Columbia today.

"I put a couple pictures up and as I promised I donated a lumminary in Monica's name. When they lit them all up and the HOPE sign in the grandstands and we did a silent walk around the track in remembrance, I was overcome at the beauty of it all and when I walked by Monica's lit luminary on the side of the track, I was overcome and was reminded to tell you that she will be remembered even by those of us who didn't know her and I look forward to meeting her some day. If you get a chance to participate in one of these take it by all means! It was my first time and I was overjoyed and grief strickenly emotional all day by the stories! Amazing the fight in the human spirit.
As the candle lumminaries were lit a local pastor read a story from a caregiver and then their vocal team sang a Psalm - Where does my help come from? It was beautiful. I gave you and Sol a mental hug.
Bless you my friend.
Lynne (delyjebe@hotmail.com)

PS
Feel free to forward my email to him if you desire. You can tell him we pray for him and Kai as God brings them to mind."

I posted a picture of the Luminary on FB. People are still praying Sol!
