Hey Sol,

Kai catching a fish is awesome, pictures a must. Always checking your site to read the latest, we definitely have to set up a play date with Kai and Asa. Until then, take care brother.

Dear Sol, Yesterday as we were celebrating Diego's 22nd birthday I found myself thinking over and over again about Monica. I'm glad you are with family this weekend. Can't wait to see pictures of Kai with his first fish! We are all thinking of you and sending our love to you and Kai. God bless you both.
Lots of love, Lark, Jim and Kids

As I watch the fireworks from Kenita's parents' front lawn tomorrow I will think of Monica and dream of a day when we might all gather together with her for what's sure to be a much grander show than any of us could imagine here and now.
With love to both you and Kai,

Dear Sol, I have just finished the book, A Grace Disguised: How the Soul Grows Through Loss by Jerry Sittser. (I checked it out from the library.) Mr. Sittser wrote it 3 years after his wife, daughter and mother were killed in a tragic car accident that he and his other 3 kids survived. His style of writing reminds me of you, I think you would be friends. He speaks to a number of tough issues: God's sovereignty, random suffering, trusting a God that has seemingly let you down, forgiveness and more.
Towards the end of the book he writes: " I had no power to control the circumstances that altered the course of our lives. The accident simply happened, a chance - or providential, as I believe - interruption that changed everything. But I discovered soon after the accident that I still had power to determine the course my life would take, however limited that power seemed to be at the time. I had the power to choose how I would respond and whether of not I would trust in God. As it turned out, this power was greater than I had expected. I have found a new life that is truly good. ... The accident remains now, as it has been, a horrible experience that did great damage to us and to so many others. It was and will remain a very bad chapter. But the whole of my life is becoming what appears to be a very good book.
Sol, let me know if I can send this book to you, I haven't checked but I would guess that I could just buy it from Amazon and have it sent to you. Dennis & I remain in prayer for you, Patty (Bethany's mom)

Hi Sol-
Thinking about you and Kai a lot. Happy birthday to the little guy! I have tried to send some more pictures of Mon to you by regular mail but they were returned, labeled "unable to forward". Could you please give me your new address? Thanks and take care.

It looks like you two had a great weekend! Who made the Father's Day gift for you? Well, I *know* Kai made it, but who helped him? It's great!

Our hearts are saddened by Monica’s passing. It’s difficult times like these I just don’t know what to say,
