Monica,
The Gowers told me yesterday about your diagnosis, and then I got this link from Joni. I just want you to know that God has placed you very heavily on my heart. I am offering prayers for you and your family every time the Lord brings you to mind, which is often. There are times when the things coming our way don't make sense. I hold to the hope that someday, some way, they will. God's arm is not too short to reach where you are. He is more than able to accomplish every good thing concerning you. I pray blessings of truth and blessings of peace on you and your family. Know that even though we were not "close" friends at Simpson, I feel that the Lord will have me praying a lot for you in the days, week, months, and years to come.

Many blessings,
Kenna

Monica, I know what it is like to hear that there is a malignancy in one of your breast, and to have time stand still in that moment. I heard the same words 28 years ago. If you are wondering if God hears and answers prayer, the answer is a resounding YES!! I ask you now, ”…who’s report will you believe?”

I can tell you that I had three major surgeries between May 3, 1979 and May 3, 1980 beginning with a radical mastectomy of the left breast. I fed my spirit with scriptures that spoke of the healing power of Christ; I listened to uplifting gospel music and thanked God for each new day as I do even now. I still had down days, but I had more up days :)

I read how Norm Cousins had been diagnosed with cancer, and given only months to live and he checked himself into a hotel, and rented all of his favorite comedy videos - he laughed himself back to health. It was the way he chose to fight…you find what works best for you. I have stood in agreement with all who have prayed; I now believe all mighty and powerful God that He has heard our prayers and is answering even now. I have seen Him come through too many times to doubt Him.

Blessings and love,
Gale

Holy smokes - we’re speechless! Our spirits are moaning and the Holy Spirit is praying on our behalf before the Father for you. We will be checking back on this site often so we can stay on our knees for you! What a cute little boy! We had heard you had a son, but what fun to see him. We’re expecting our 3rd at the end of December - we’ll find out then if we are adding a boy or girl to our family. Rob’s on the 2nd to last leg of his PHD - he’s taking his comprehensive exams (like the bar exam) this semester and then will start on his dissertation. He’s done with classes. He can’t wait to have his own classroom again. We love you!

Monica, Sol and Kai are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. I came across Jeremiah 17:7,8 the other day. This cancer thing is like a heat wave and drought but the Lord promises that your roots will drink of the living water and instead of fear and anxiety the leaf will remain green and fruit will be found.

Our prayers will be with each day.

Hey, Monica and family!

Ann Jordan forwarded the recent email about your situation, and my heart goes out to you. You have been and will be in my prayers. I just looked through your photos, what a beautiful family you have. I am proud of who you have become and will be praying for a deep wisdom as you make all the decisions that are pressing in on you now. May God's grace carry you in ways beyond your understanding.

Please add me to the email list so that I can stay apprised as to how to pray.

Much love to you,

Sarah

Hi Monica,
At our Bible study last night we were all very blessed reading Psalm 91. What it says about God’s promise for those who love him is wondrous. Read it often because He offers us protection and long life. He drives away the pestilence and takes care of us. Stand on it.
Love, Jess
